The 5 eco tips to adopt when going out

The month of June highlights ecology with several key dates: Sustainable Development Week from May 30 to June 5, World Environment Day on June 5, World Oceans Day on June 8 and European Energy Week from June 15 to 19. The opportunity for us to share with you 5 tips for going out in a greener way!
1. Abolish plastic straws
Oh, the famous plastic straw! Synonymous with relaxation, served at the slightest opportunity, we love to use it to sip our drink. Besides, it seems to be more hygienic. Unfortunately, the plastic straws we find in our glasses are a disaster for the planet: massive pollution of the oceans, toxic gases from burning waste, difficulty in transforming them, extremely slow natural decomposition... So, from now on, buy a stainless steel or bamboo straw and get used to taking it everywhere with you!
2. Bring back your Doggy bag
You ordered this huge pizza that was making eyes at you but your eyes were bigger than your stomach? Combating food waste also means working for ecology: water and other energies used in the design of food, carbon dioxide emissions during combustion, etc. We also think of the millions of people suffering from famine around the world. So now, when you don't finish your meal, take the reflex to use a doggy bag (made of recyclable cardboard) to bring back the leftovers, you will eat them tomorrow. You can also donate it to a person in need who will be happy to eat a good meal!
3. Save water when using the toilet
Did you know that the equivalent of 6 bottles of 1L water is wasted during a hand washing of about 30 seconds? Here's a simple technique that will allow you to wash your hands with half the water: you put your hands quickly under water, turn off the tap while washing with soap, then rinse as quickly as possible.
4. Bring a pocket ashtray
The best thing would be to stop smoking again! But if you are waiting for the New Year for this good resolution, remember to bring a pocket ashtray everywhere you go. Even if most bars are equipped with ashtrays, you sometimes find yourself crushing your cigarette butt on the ground. Already it is not very pleasant for the people who come after, but above all it is a plague for the environment because cigarette butts end up in nature where they degrade in 2 years. And we see you smart guys coming, you who throw your cigarette butts into the manhole covers... Did you know that part of the water from the manhole is dumped into the oceans? It will then take the butt 1 to 5 years to deteriorate....
5. Encourage public transport, cycling or walking
We all know now, a car is not very green! So leave the Uber at the end of the evening, we take the first subway or the noctilian. For the bravest, you can also go home by bike or on foot, and it also makes you do sports! Or why not try the scooter, very trendy at the moment!
If you can't do big things, do small things in a big way.
